About us

London Lacrosse Club was formed in 2024. Nicknamed “London Laxstars”, our goal is to become the first semi-professional lacrosse team in the UK, bringing together the best amateur lacrosse talent across the city to form an All Star regional lacrosse team that competes in exhibition matches in front of live and virtual audiences. Committed to diversity in lacrosse, we aim to be a representation of the culture, energy and diversity of our city out on the field.

We seek out the best junior, youth and senior talent to represent their city at the regional level, competing against other regional and international teams as well as amateur squads competing in the NEMLA and SEMLA local leagues.

Our aim is to grow the game of lacrosse through professionalisation and talent development, bringing a Premier League Lacrosse influenced model to the UK, we want to entertain and enthral spectators and fans with the highest level of competitive lacrosse, which we hope will bring attention to the game in the mainstream media and contribute towards the growth of lacrosse as a major team sport in the UK.

London Laxstars - Design 15 - About us

As well as working with the best regional talent to entertain spectator audiences, we are engaged in grassroots lacrosse activities, offering junior/youth coaching and competitive opportunities, engaging schools and universities and running promotional events that grow the London Laxstars brand and the wider lacrosse community. Our management team and talent can be found out on the road delivering free opportunities for the public to participate in lacrosse for the first time, introducing novices to the basics of the sport such as catching and throwing, cradling, dodging and shooting.

London Laxstars, as the club is known, was founded by our director, Lee Thomas. Lee began playing lacrosse at the age of 8 after being introduced to the sport by legendary junior coach Peter Compton, whilst attending Kings Acre primary school in Lambeth. He has played in SEMLA, county, regional and national lacrosse competitions, an unbeaten junior tour of Maryland, USA and a pioneering junior tour of the Czech Republic. He has coached field, pop and a hybrid mixed lacrosse at clubs, coaching clinics, local secondary and primary schools.

Inspired by the professionalisation of lacrosse in the US in the early 2000’s, Lee returned to get involved in the business of lacrosse, launching a retail store, before consolidating his interests and skills to create London Laxstars in 2024.

Lee is a Londoner from Lambeth, driven by a competitive desire to take on teams across England and Europe’s major cities in front of audiences, he wants to lead London lacrosse to the title of lacrosse capital of England and Europe. Often when he is listening to Grime MC’s and in a very competitive mood, he dreams of London Laxstars taking on Premier League Lacrosse and NCAA Division 1 lacrosse teams in the US, some time in the future.

Membership of the club is open to all that want to get emotionally (and financially) engaged in our business goals and competitive desire to become the first semi-pro and best regional lacrosse team in England and Europe; bringing the culture, diversity and energy of our global city to the lacrosse field and the side-lines. If you want to see Londoners hammer Manchester, trample Sheffield and send Nottingham back to school, then London Laxstars is the club for you.

Let’s go Laxstars!! Let’s go London!!
